AILG Information Leaflets

AILG have published a series of information Leaflets for Elected Members which contain practical, accessible information for Elected Members on various aspects of their policy, regulatory & statutory duties

The leaflets cover a wide range of issues including the Part 8 Planning ProcessReserved FunctionsMaterial Contravention of the Development PlanPublic Rights-of-Way Creation and Extinguishment and Section 183 Disposal of Council Lands. The leaflets have a particular emphasis on Reserved functions which relate primarily to issues of policy, e.g the Material Contravention of the Development Plan and are intended to be a useful information tool for elected members in their day-to-day role as public representatives and to help answer questions and give advice to elected members on a range of topics in a clear and concise way.
