On Tuesday 25th February, President Cllr. Kieran O’ Hanlon led an AILG delegation to the Customs House for AILG’s first official meeting with Minister John Cummins since his appointment as Minister of State for Local Government and Planning.
In what was a productive meeting, the Association took the opportunity to raise a number of local government issues on behalf of our membership, including the new Programme for Government and Local Democracy Taskforce, pay and non-pay supports and improvements, and the rollout of the Women’s Regional Caucus Network.
The AILG was very encouraged by the discussion and we look forward to continued collaboration and engagement with Minister Cummins over this Council term.
