Upcoming AILG Induction Training Events

AILG are pleased to announce an extensive induction training programme for our 949 newly elected members, commencing after the June local elections. This programme is designed to equip our elected members with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively. We believe this comprehensive training programme will greatly benefit elected members and ensure that they are well-prepared to meet their governance responsibilities effectively.

Please find attached our The Induction training will consist of the following:

  • Series of six weekly online webinars commencing on Friday, 28th June, and continuing every Friday until 2nd August 2024.
  • One in-person induction training module commencing on the 11th & 13th July.

Online Induction Training Series:

AILG will host a series of six online induction training webinars, please note all the below webinars will run from 10:00 am to 11:30am on the following dates and cover the following topics:

In-Person Induction Training Module:

In addition to the online series, AILG will conduct an in-person induction training module titled “AILG Elected Member General Induction Training,” which will cover the following areas:

  • Post Local Elections Statutory Returns
  • Code of Conduct
  • Introduction to AILG
  • Elected Member Supports

The in-person training sessions will be delivered by AILG staff at the following locations and dates:

Our AILG Elected Member Learning and Training Development Programme has grown from strength to strength over the last 10 years in providing tailored training and education programmes to our 949 elected councillors, and we look forward to continuing to deliver pertinent training and support to our members over the next five year term.
