The AILG recently provided a Training module to Councillors entitled “Elected Members Personal Safety and Risk Assessment” which provided an understanding of personal security and safety risks in a number of settings and of a number of particular risk types. Other important learning outcomes included;
- Raise levels of personal security and safety awareness among participants.
- Highlight best practice response measures.
- Provide an understanding of longer-term risk reduction strategies in cases of persistent, sustained, or acute personal security risks.
