The presentations were delivered by Paddy Mahon (Chair of the CCMA Climate Action, Transport and Networks Committee) and David Mellett from the Climate Action Regional Offices (CARO Atlantic Seaboard North).
Developed in consultation with local authorities, Delivering Effective Climate Action 2030 aims to support the local government sector’s ambition to lead on climate action. This strategy sets out a roadmap for how local authorities and elected members will lead in the effort to tackle climate change, collaborating at a national level and working locally and regionally within their cities and counties to deliver real and lasting impacts in addressing Ireland’s national climate targets. As community champions, elected members are vital local leaders in ensuring the continued development of our towns, cities and counties as sustainable places to live, work, visit and invest in.
